Moss & Bone – the zine, the witch shop, the collaboration between artists, the whatever this is/turns out to be – began as conversations between good friends. Over the years, our topics have covered everything from recipes to romance novels, tarot to tailoring, politics to perfume. The through-line, though, has always been the same: a devotion to the idea that curiosity, imagination, desire, and presentation can be agents of personal and collective repair. 

Every issue of Moss & Bone exists to help restore sensuality and symbolic thinking to ordinary life – to make the everyday just a little more magical. We believe that what we read, make, consume, and share can restore our connection to our bodies, to one another, and to more meaningful ways of being.

We firmly believe that theatricality turns the banal into ritual. Ritual in turn transforms intention into attention and attention into expression. Now more than ever, positive, joyful expression is essential.
